I can still hear my mom’s voice in my head: “you’ll see. The older you get, the harder it will be to adapt to other cultures, countries, environments, couples, jobs, houses. Uncertainty will become less and less tolerable, and you will long for stability and tranquility. Anxiety and stress don’t get well with a nomadic lifestyle. Live the life you want and make you happy. You can always change as long as you have good health and energy.”
And to be honest with you, changing was never on the table. A stable, predictable, and boring life was out of the question. It was very obvious to me. Why was so difficult for others to see it too? So ridiculously obvious.
